Sports fans – Is it true? Enjoy a sporting event, all types of games? Using an antique sports equipment in the center of your coffee table. An old baseball glove, for example,will make a unique statement and show your love of the sport. Another idea is to show off your collection of golf balls in a glass bowl.
The Artist – Are you an artist? A photographer? Use your coffee table as a mini gallery. For example, display one or two of your favorite art pieces or photos on mini easels in the center of your coffee table. You could even opt to decoupage the top of the coffee table with your artwork for a unique display of your personality.
The Gardener or Nature Lover – If you enjoy gardening and the outdoors, consider displaying ‘live’ pieces of art on your coffee table – plants. Other ideas that may suit you include displaying old watering cans holding small garden tools, a photo album, book of nature or a unique birdhouse.
The Beach Bum – Perhaps you have fond beach memories, or perhaps you just want to create that vacation feeling at home. Use your coffee tables to display your collection of shells and sea glass in a simple wicker basket. You could also pop a few of your favorite beach photos into simple wood frames and display on your coffee tables.
The Book Worm – For the avid reader and book lover, coffee tables can be the place to stack your favorite books. Just don’t go overboard – pick a few of your favorites. Use this pile as a mini-table on the coffee tables, and display old reading glasses. You can rotate the books on display every few weeks.
The Family Person – It’s only natural to want to show off your family, and coffee tables can help you do that. If you have children, you can turn some of your favorite photos into coasters and have a variety to choose from. Additionally, have a small photo album ready for guests to flip through.
The Chef – For those of you interested in food, dining and fine wine, use your coffee tables to express this. Save the corks from your wine bottles, and arrange on top of an antique cake stand. You could even write on the cork the name of the wine, who you shared it with, and what the occasion was.
Whatever you chose for your coffee tables, think outside of the box when choosing containers for the display. Remember also to incorporate different elevations, depending on your coffee table’s shape, size, and the overall surface space.
