1) These grandparents' grandchildren live in a country other than in the children only visit twice a year to live.
2) The grandparents live in a condo with limited space,
3) another grandparent is' obsessed with a picture perfect home. "
The common denominator is that they all love their grandchildren and want to have toys for them if they come to visit and play, but they do not know how to store toys withouta lot of room in their house. Organize toys in small spaces can be a challenge. Here are some tried and true solutions:
1.Make a home for toys. Buy a container with a lid and fill it with toys. The size of the container will determine how many toys you can get. Plastic containers on wheels that slide under a bed have a solution for those with small spaces. Plastic drawers that stack and are on wheels could be stored in a closet in between visits. A basket with aLid can double as a toy chest and a coffee table too. A chest of drawers not being used or the designation of a couple of drawers to store costumes for children, games and puzzles. Holding a book case in a guest room or another area of the house was rarely used books, puzzles, and larger objects such as puppets and large trucks. The size of the toy could also determine whether you have in your house.
2.When with drawers for storage label the drawers with a label maker so that the childrenknow where the toy back. For younger children, take a photo of what is in the drawer and put it in the drawer, either on the outside or if you prefer on the inside of the drawer on the side where it is still visible. Keep small pieces together in inexpensive plastic boxes or zip lock bag. Leave Using a Sharpie permanent pen, inside the container or bag, the game or toy that 'life'.
3.Another solution with toys for children to play at grandmas and grandpas is to haveParents bring their favorite drink of children's toys when they come to play. But I prefer toys that have than they are at home, different, those who only play at Grandma and Grandpa. This makes the toy even more special. Besides the toys, activities that can be done together to build those precious memories of fun with grandchildren when they come over and visit. Some ideas are puzzles, clay and clothing to put on clothes or for playing the only way to help theirImagination to grow. Take photos of them playing and to give a little book to their parents or as a surprise for holiday activities such as parent or Father's Day.
So, now the toys the children liked to play with, to live on the container for them and a storage area, was for the containers when they are appointed is not used, there is one more thing to consider. Children need to know is the expectation if the toy to play with, they also are responsible, they representaway. After a season or before they can go home time for them to put away the toys where they belong. This teaches responsibility and a sense of belonging. They are not afraid they'll come back and with a lot of extra work to do to clean up when they leave and look forward to come back.
